-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Central Station Paging Procedures Bulletin 1001 5/28/98 Copyright (C) 1998, Coastal Security Systems, Inc. All Rights Reserved. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Central station operators must have an alarm or message screen in front of them before dialing a pager. A record of the page is to be recorded by the operator by pressing the F6 funtion key and entering the telephone number of the pager. When any person calls the central station and says they were paged the central station operator will ask the caller for the telephone number of the pager. The central station operator will press F6 at the dispatch program traffic menu and enter the pager number. A screen will display a list of all alarms, sales leads, service orders and administrative messages for which this pager number was called within the past four hours. The central station operator may highlight any of the items on the list and press enter to see the item (alarm or message). The list will show the station and operator numbers for the original page. Calls from people who have been paged should only be transferred to the operator who called the pager when there are unique circumstances requiring such. Normally, the operator answering the call should handle the alarm or message notification and there should be no need to transfer the call. When the central station operator receives a call from someone who was paged and finds no record of the page after entering the pager number the first question the operator will ask is, "could this page have been more than four hours ago?" If the answer is yes, the operator will say, "We do not keep paging information more than four hours old." If the caller identifies himself as a dealer then it is appropriate to check pending messages using F3. If the caller identifies himself as a subscriber then it is appropriate to check his recent alarm history using F5. Otherwise, the operator will end the call without further checking on the page.
