-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Template Accounts Bulletin 2060 09/27/99 Copyright (C) 1993, Coastal Security Systems, Inc. All rights reserved. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The central station can create an account which defines all of the signals which you normally program for a certain type of alarm panel. Once this is done, you no longer need to provide complete signal information with each account you put on line. All you need to do is refer to the template account number and submit any changes or deviations with the new account paperwork. There is no charge for a template account. You may have as many as you wish. Template account information will be included in your down loads so that you may review and update them like any other account. When an alarm signal is received the central station software looks for a matching code and zone in the subscriber's record first. If not found, the template account is searched. If still not found the invalid signal procedure described in bulletin 1010 will apply. It is imperative that in all template accounts the dispatch agencies are defined as follows: agency 1 for police agency 2 for fire agency 3 for medical agency 4 for guard or runner service The central station software will convert these agency numbers to the proper numbers for the actual subscriber when a signal is found in the template account. If you use a dispatch agency number higher than 4 in a template it will be copied directly into the subscriber account. Dealers using remote access need to know how template account entry works. If you enter a template account number and the account has no signals defined, the software will ask if you wish to load the signals. If you type "Y" for yes then the signals defined in the template account will be copied into the subscriber account so that you can modify them as you see fit. You may delete signals that are exact duplicates of signals that will remain in the template. There is no need to load a copy of the signals from the template account unless you need to make special changes for a particular subscriber. Always keep in mind that when you change a template you may be changing the way signals will be handled for a large number of accounts. The central station data entry department can produce a report for you listing all of the accounts that use a particular template. You should request this report by fax before making extensive changes to a template and especially before deleting a template account.
