-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fax Back for Subscribers Bulletin 4020 4/23/92 Copyright (C) 1992, Coastal Security Systems, Inc. All Rights Reserved. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fax Back service is now available for subscribers who regularly test their systems. If you wish to allow your subscribers to participate: 1. Select a four digit PIN code which the subscriber will use to log in to the system. 2. Send a file update to the central station which contains the Fax Back PIN code. 3. Show the subscriber how to use Fax Back (described below). 4. Give the subscriber the telephone number for Fax Back. Subscribers will use the same telephone numbers used by dealers and vendors to access it: Dade County...............................305-628-5741 Broward County, south of Stirling Road....305-628-5741 Broward County, north of Stirling Road....954-946-1847 Boca Raton................................561-998-1801 Palm Beach County, except Boca Raton......561-731-2001 Subscribers log in to Fax Back differently than dealers: 9 * account number * PIN code # When a subscriber logs in to Fax Back and his account was not already on test, the system will say, "To place this account on test, press one." If the subscriber presses one, the system will say, "You may now test your system for thirty minutes." When a subscriber logs in to Fax Back and his account was already on test, the system will say, "The central station received X signals. To continue testing your system, press one. If you have finished testing, press two." "X" will either be "no" or it will be the number of signals received. Fax Back reports only the number of signals received, not the codes, zones and pin statuses which it would report when a technician tests an account. 1. If the subscriber pressed one, Fax Back will say, "You may now test your system for thirty minutes." 2. If the subscriber pressed two, Fax Back will say, "Your system is now back in service." -------------------------------- Central Station Policy There is no charge for the use of Fax Back by subscribers. Central station dispatchers will not accept a Fax Back PIN code as an alarm cancel code unless you have specifically arranged for them to do so. In most cases, it will be a good idea to make the Fax Back PIN code and the account's alarm cancel code the same. When speaking to subscribers, central station operators are not permitted to encourage or discourage the use of Fax Back. It will be up to the dealer to determine whether or not to offer Fax Back service to subscribers. Most subscribers do not test their systems regularly. Many never test! Of the subscribers who do, some are not sophisticated enough to use the service and will prefer to deal with a central station operator.
