-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Verify Call Codes and Abbreviations Bulletin 5010 3/10/03 Copyright (C) 1992, Coastal Security Systems, Inc. All Rights Reserved. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Central station operators use two letter codes to describe the action taken or the results of a call made after an alarm has been received. These codes appear in the alarm logs which are faxed or down loaded daily and which are available through the Fax Back system. The two letter code will either be the first two characters appearing in the verify remarks field or they will be preceded by a forward slash (ie: Mrs/CW). Code Description ---- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- AL The same alarm was ALready dispatched (see bulletin 2010). When a signal is received and the same signal (type and zone) was dispatched or AL'ed within the previous thirty minutes, the dispatcher will cancel the new signal as being ALready dispatched. AM An answering machine answered the call. AMLM An answering machine answered the call and we left a message. AS An answering service answered the call. BN Bad Number. The telephone number called was disconnected, not in service, changed to a non-published number, or the person who answered the call has nothing to do the the alarm and does not know the person the dispatcher was trying to reach. If the telephone company provides a new number to call, this code will not apply. The central station operator will call the new number and use the appropriate code for the results of the new call. BO Bookkeeping hold. If monitoring services are suspended for non-payment the central station computer will autolog all signals and enter "Bookkeeping Hold" in the verify call remarks field. CW The proper code word was recited to cancel the alarm. DI Dispatch immediately. Do not verify. EM Employee has this account on test. FB Fax Back. A subscriber has this account on test (see bulletin 4020). GFD Gone for the day. This abbreviation is used in connection with notification calls. HO Hold pending restore. This applies when there is an instruction in the database to wait a certain period of time for a restore signal before handling the alarm (see bulletin 2020). IN Account is inactive. All signals are autologged by the computer. NA No answer. Dispatcher lets phone ring at least 6 times. NI Not in. The person the dispatcher was trying to reach is not in and the person answering the call cannot or will not accept notification. This code is used in connection with call out notifications. NO No action required. NC No code. The person answering the call either did not know the cancel code or no code was required. RE Redundant signal. The previous signal will be handled by the operator. The computer will cancel a signal as redundant if it was preceded within two minutes by a signal of the same type and the previous signal required operator action (was not autologged) or was also redundant. Open/close signals, invalid signals, SPC (special) signals and signals produced by the central station computer cannot be canceled this way. SC Event was scheduled. This applies to openings. SI Special instruction was followed. The instruction may be to dispatch or to cancel the alarm. ST Storm procedures applied (see bulletin 2050). TM Applies only to burglary alarms. Alarm was cancelled because it was immediately followed by a cancel or opening signal (see bulletin 2030). UP Applies to WatchALERT non-responding STUs. The first time a STU fails to respond an attempt is made to re-establish contact with it. WC The person answering the call gave the wrong code.
