-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscriber Record Format Bulletin 5040 5/26/93 Copyright (C) 1992, Coastal Security Systems, Inc. All Rights Reserved. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscriber records are created by the data entry department based on new account information submitted by the dealer. Each record is then sent back to the dealer for verification or made availabe via remote internet access to the dealer for verification. Records (changes) are either faxed or down loaded to each dealer. A copy of any subscriber record can be ordered through the Fax Back service 24 hours a day. The format of a subscriber record is always the same. The information that a dispatcher sees when looking at an account is exactly the same as the information a dealer sees when looking at a faxed, down loaded or internet access copy. The information appears in the following sections: General Information System Description Special Instructions Alarm Signal Information Opening and Closing Options (if applicable) Log Report Options (if applicable) Callout List ---------------------------- General Information Section ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscriber: Central One Account Number: 1 Main Phone: 407-998-1800 6251-A Park of Commerce Blvd NW Alt. Phone: 954-946-1234 Boca Raton , FL 33487 ( ) Account Type: C Contract Date: 01/01/92 Type: WHO Inactive From: 00/00/00 Dealer/Group: 1 - Coastal Security Systems, Inc. Code: (see callouts) Alarm Permit Number: 92-1234 Expires: 09/30/93 Faxback Pin: 1642 Directions to Premises: Arvida Park of Commerce NW of Yamato and I-95 Permanent Comments: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The name and address fields must contain the name and address of the protected premises. All alarms received from the account are dispatched to this name and address. The main phone field must contain a telephone number which rings at the protected premises and which can be used for alarm verification calls. If there is more than one line at the protected premises, use a line which is likely to be answered at any hour by someone on the premises and not an answering service or machine. The alternate phone field may be used for any necessary purpose. A second field appears in parenthesis below which is used to describe the alternate phone number. If two numbers are to be called to verify an alarm, the second verify number must appear in the alternate phone number field and the description below must say "call before dispatch" to indicate that it is a second verify phone number. The account type is usually "R" for residential or "C" for commercial. The type will be "T" for a template account which is an account used to store the standard alarm signals for a particular type of panel or communicator. The contract date contains the date of the subscriber's contract. The contract type contains one of the following: DEL account is to be deleted as of the inactive date ELE elevator monitoring account LOC local (not monitored) system in our database for answering service WHO wholesale burglar or fire alarm account The inactive from date field contains the date on which monitoring is to cease. This field contains all zeroes if the account is active. By entering a future date in this field, an account may be scheduled to go inactive. The next field, labeled "Dealer/Group" contains the number of the group to which the account belongs and the name of the dealer. In most cases, the group number and the dealer number are the same. The next field usually contains the code used by the subscriber to cancel false alarms. Sometimes this field will contain "(account number)", "(see callouts)", or "(see area)". For a complete discussion of alarm cancel codes and how to set them up order bulletin number 3020. Several jurisdictions now require an alarm permit number before they will respond to an alarm. The alarm permit number field is used to record that information. A second field, labeled "Expires:" is used to record the alarm permit expiration date. If you provide this information the central station will include the account on the subscriber trouble report thirty days before the permit expires and again on the expiration date. The Faxback pin number field may contain a secret number from 1 to 9999 which the subscriber may use to access Fax Back for the purpose of testing the system. For complete information on Fax Back services for subscribers order bulletin number 4020. The directions to premises field and permanent comments field are always seen by the dispatcher when alarms are handled. Development names should always be included in the directions field. The permanent comments field should contain any duress code assigned to the account. --------------------------- System Description Section ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alarm System Type: FBI LEGEND 100 Key Number or Fall Back Code: 19876 Communicator Phone: 407-994-3415 Test Interval (hours): 25 FTT Code: 0 Scheduled Maintenance Code: S Interval (months): 2 Next Due: 11/01/92 System Certification: UL File Number: S-4807 Certificate Type: PC Grade: AA Issued: 01/01/92 Expires: 12/31/92 Certificate Number: LM-123456789 Key Envelope Number: 0 Location of Keys: Remarks: Extents: Premises: 2 Stock Room: Safe/Vault: Night Depository: ATM: Fire Alarm: Line Security: DC Host: 0 STU Number: 20-342 Phone Number: 407-994-3415 Off Hook Polling: DLY Output Usage: Date Ordered: 12/05/91 Date Due: 12/09/91 Should STU be Up? Y Remarks: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The first three lines of the system description section will always appear. The alarm system type and fall back code fields are optional and will be entered only if you choose to submit the information. The communicator phone number field is for the telephone number used by the digital communicator to report alarms. This information can be obtained via caller id or ANI data on some receiver lines and can be used to block calls from runaway communicators. The test interval field is for systems which send periodic communicator test signals. The most common is a 25 hour test. The central station recommends that you allow one more hour than the test timer interval to allow for timers which run slow. The FTT (fail to test) code field sets the alarm code which will be produced if the system fails to test. This is a seldom used feature since missing communicator tests are reported daily on the subscriber trouble report. The scheduled maintenance fields provide a perpetual maintenance calendar for your account. Due dates are reported daily on the subscriber trouble report. For complete information, see bulletin 5020. The "System Certification" section of the record will appear only if a U.L. certificate has been issued for the account. Fields are provided for the certificate type and number, issue and expiration dates, premises key storage, and remarks. The "Line Security" section of the record will appear only if the system is monitored through derived channel (WatchALERT) or long range radio (AlarmNet/Radscan). Additional fields provide information specific to the line security service in use. For derived channel, see bulletin 1070. For AlarmNet, see bulletin 1060. Only one type of line security service is permitted per account number. ----------------------------- Special Instructions ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Instruction: \fDispatch Immediately \bSubscriber out of town Temporary from: 10/01/92 Through: 03/31/93 Cancel Alarms? N ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The "Instruction:" field provides 48 characters for special instruction text. Special instruction text must be carefully worded to avoid mis- interpretation by operators. See bulletin 3000 for central station policy on special instructions and file updates. Special character sequences in the instruction control how the instruction is displayed to the operator. Text following a \f flashes, text following a \b is bold and bright, and text following \n is normal (the default). The temporary from and through dates control when the special instruction will appear on action screens (the screens which are displayed when an alarm signal is received). The applicable areas fields (usually all "Y" for yes) can be used to control the specific signals to which the instruction applies. This is accomplished by assigning an area number to the applicable signal and then changing all the other area fields in the instruction to "N". The applicable alarm types field is used to control the alarm types to which the instruction applies. Alarm type is used more often than area. If this field is empty the instruction will apply to all alarm types. The field may contain a list of alarm types, such as: "Applicable Alarm Types: BUR FIR TBL" It may also contain zone numbers, such as: "Applicable Alarm Types: BUR 3,10-12" It may also contain a mixture, such as: "Applicable Alarm Types: BUR 3 FIR 1,7-11 TBL The "Cancel Alarms?" field determines whether alarms which match all of the criteria will be cancelled automatically on receipt. If "Y" for yes is entered in this field then all alarms will be canceled which are received within the from and through dates and match the area and alarm type restrictions, if any. The "Do not TM?" field may be used to prevent operators from cancelling an intrusion alarm that is immediately followed by a cancel or open signal. Use of this field is not recommended. Systems should be programmed not to send cancel signals if they are to be ignored. ----------------------------- Alarm Signal Information ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Code Zone(s) Description and Procedure 3 0-65535 BUR-AUD Area: 0 Panel Zone: 0 Must Restore? Y TBL = 0 CAN/RES = 0 BYP/FAR = 0 FTR = 0 1 - Call Premises to Verify Alarm 2 - Dispatch: 1 - Boca Raton Police Department 3 - Notify Callout ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- A digital communicator transmits an alarm code, zone or both using a wide variety of communications formats. For complete information about the way the code and zone is determined, order the bulletin which deals with the alarm receiver used for your accounts (bulletin 1030 for the F.B.I. CP-220 receiver). The alarm code is a number from 0 to 999 which is generally used to indicate the alarm type (ie fire, burglary, hold-up). The zone number is a number from 0 to 65535 which is generally used to add detail to the alarm report. It is up to you to decide how much detail to send to the central station. For example, The same system could be submitted to the central station with any of the following levels of detail: No Detail Partial Detail Full Detail ------------------------ ------------------------ ------------------------ Code Zones Description Code Zones Description Code Zones Description 3 0-65535 burglary 3 1-3 front 3 1 front door 3 2 dining rm 3 3 guest bdrm 3 4-5 interior 3 4 mstr bdrm pir 3 5 living rm pir 3 6-7 rear 3 6 back door 3 7 kitchen wind. The area field can be used to assign the signal to a particular area or partition of the account. Special instructions, time schedules and call outs can be specifically associated with specific areas or partitions of the account. If the digital communicator transmits the area number, the received area number is used and the contents of this field is ignored. The seldom used panel zone field can be used to modify the zone number stored in the alarm log. The value entered in this field is simply added to the value received from the digital communicator. One use of this field is to match the zone number in the alarm log with the zone number on the subscriber's alarm panel. Another use is to match alarm and restore zone numbers to allow tracking zones which fail to restore. When a restore signal is received without a zone number it automatically restores all outstanding alarm conditions regardless of the zone numbers in alarm. But when a restore signal is received with a zone number, it only restores outstanding alarm conditions with a matching zone number. For example, Alarm Zone 1 is restored by Restore Zone 0 (no zone) and Restore Zone 1 (zone number matches) but is not restored by Restore Zone 2 (zone number present but non-matching). Three option fields apply to tracking restore signals: 1. Must restore (Y/N)? 2. Within (time limit) 3. Hold pending restore (Y/N)? If the "must restore" field is "N" for no, outstanding (unrestored) alarm conditions will not be tracked. If "Y" for yes, outstanding alarm conditions will be tracked and will appear on the subscriber trouble report for ten (10) days. If the "within" field contains a time value, the central station computer will generate a new signal when the time expires if no restore has been received. If the "hold pending restore" field is "Y" for yes, the original alarm will be logged without operator intervention. The operator action steps will only be taken when and if the "within" time expires and the alarm has failed to restore. If the "service memo" field contains "Y" for yes, then the signal will always be classified as a trouble signal so that it appears on alarm log reports which include trouble signals. If the alarm type is TBL (trouble) or if a trouble pin status is received, the signal is automatically classified as a trouble signal. The "event letter" and "two sources" fields are currently not used and should contain "N" for no. The "XL Area" field is used to define an area which contains a schedule specifying different dispatcher action to be taken either during the scheduled hours, outside the scheduled hours, or based on whether the premises is actually open or closed. Most signals are handled the same way no matter when they are received and therefore do not use this field. The "Code word required..." field should contain "Y" for yes if a person must recite the alarm cancel code in order to cancel the alarm. If the field contains "N" for no, then anyone can cancel. This field is usually "Y" for security related signals (burglary and hold-up) and "N" for non-security related signals (fire and medical). The remainder of the signal information contains a list of the steps which the central station operator will follow each time the signal is received. ----------------------------- Log Report Options: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Produced: Sun? Y Mon? N Tue? N Wed? N Thu? N Fri? N Sat? N Start (days ago): 7 End: 1 Format (Short/Long): S Include: All Events? N Dispatches? N Trouble? N Open/Close? Y (name, address, fax number, etc.) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The "Produced:" fields select the day or days of the week on which the report is prepared. The "Start (days ago):" and "End:" fields are used to calculate the starting and ending dates for the report. In the example above, reports are prepared every Sunday for the previous week (Sunday through Saturday). The format for the report may be short or long. The short format shows the date, time and type of signal received, the zone or user number, whether the alarm was dispatched, the results of the verify call, and the callout notification, if any. All of this information is presented in one line per signal on the report. The long format provides additional information, such as zone description text, and each step taken by the operator. The long format requires multiple lines per signal and is more difficult to read. The "Include:" options fields allow you to select the types of signals which will be included on the report. You may include all events or limit the report to any combination of dispatched events, trouble signals or open/close signals. Open/close signals include openings, closings, late to open and late to close signals as well as forced armings and ambush signals. Additional fields will appear on the form depending upon how reports are delivered to the subscriber. If reports are faxed, fields containing the fax telephone number and attention person's name will appear. If reports are mailed, fields containing the full name and address for mailing the report will appear. ----------------------------- Callout List: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Fred Flintstone Main: 407-555-9342 Alt.: 407-555-9177 Code: BEDROCK Title: President Has premises keys?
