All rights reserved. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Each night after midnight the following procedure is to be completed at work station twelve: 1. Check the "CD" light on the modem. If lit, a dealer is on line and there will be activity on the screen. Wait for the "waiting for call" prompt to be displayed. 2. When the "waiting for call" prompt is the last line on the display, press the key. 3. A confirmation prompt will appear in a red and white window on the screen. Type "Y" for yes to run "New Day Procedures" At this point the work station will perform a series of tasks called new day procedures. First, a calling list is prepared for all of the dealers who receive computer down loads or faxes for the current day of the week. Next, the following files or reports are prepared: 1. EMP file: Employee activity log made from the previous day's fax back clock in and clock out activity. 2. DBH file: Database record updates for all accounts created or updated the previous day. 3. STR file: An analysis of all accounts for problems such as unrestored zones and missing test signals. 4. PUL file: A list of all accounts which were deleted, assigned to another dealer, or had an account number change. 5. DHC file: An update for any dealer instructions which changed the previous day. 6. DLR file: A complete copy of all alarm traffic received including actions taken and final dispositions. 7. REG file: A file prepared for 911 centers and AHJ's which support or require automatic registration of new accounts by computer. 8. AHJ file: A report on all AHJ (authority having jurisdiction) notices concerning fire alarms that have been taken out of service. 9. REM file: The remote access log. This file contains the successful and unsuccessful logons made by your employees using the Citrix remote access program. Next the work station prepares a calling list and a mailing list for all subscribers who are to receive an alarm log report by fax or mail. Next, all dealers on the computer calling list are called and files are transferred to their computers which operate unattended. Next, all dealers on the fax calling list are called and their reports are printed on their fax machine. Next, all subscribers on the fax calling list are called and their reports are printed on their fax machines. After all calls have been made, the work station automatically enters the BBS mode which allows any dealer who did not receive his files to call the central station modem line and retrieve them. At this point, Morning Procedures are run at work station three. These procedures print subscriber reports which are to be mailed and a variety of reports for the central station manager's review.
